Music is part of everyone's life, even if just on the radio or in short clips on social media, but I feel a special connection with it. I grew up around my dad's renditions of A Hard Day's Night and Drive My Car, and I came to love the acoustic guitar. I use music to feel closer to my family, to reduce stress, and to mitigate some less-than-pleasant emotions that normally accompany adolescence.
I participated in the Colorado Children's Chorale as well as some musical theater when I was in elementary and middle school, but I LOVE singing and playing guitar together. I decided that I didn't want to leave high school without some performance experience, so I auditioned for and joined one of my high school's contemporary music bands my senior year. I am incredibly happy with my decision and I look forward to pursuing music in college, be it in a band, club, or class.
This is me singing I Shall Be Released .
This isYou and Me On The Rock by Brandi Carlile.
This is me singing Zombie by the Cranberries at my school's Halloween Concert (peep the poster on the visual arts page) on October 27, 2023. It was fun to dress up like a narwhal and sing a 90's classic! Apologies for the vertical recording and the sub-par sound quality!
